PLC (Planar Lightwave Circuit) splitters are Single Mode Splitters with an even split ratio from one input fiber to multiple output fibers. It is based on planar lightwave circuit technology and provides a low cost light distribution solution with small form factor and high reliability. TANGPIN Tech provides a various of 1×N and 2×N PLC splitters, including 1×2 to 1×64 and 2×2 to 2×64 1U Rack Mount type fiber PLC splitters. They are all with superior optical performance, high stability and high reliability to meet various application requirements.


Rack-mount PLC splitter is designed in 19 rack mount metal chassis. In general, it is with fiber optic adapter in the front panel. Rack-mount splitter is used in 19”ODF (Optical Distribution Frame). Our Rack mounted 1U PLC splitters meet the Telcordia standards and with very competitive prices.

Also can be referred to as Rack Mounted Fiber Optic Splitter, whihc is offered in 1U or 2U for optic fiber PLC splitters with various adapters to fit for any 19″ fiber optic racks, they are providing superior and reliable performance over a wide operating wavelength range (1260 ~ 1650nm) and temperature range (-40 to +85 °C).

Q&A

Q: Is this insert box type can be used in terminal boxes?

A: The insert box PLC splitter always can be used in the fiber optic terminal box. While the Rack mounted type of PLC Splitter always used in the ODF and rack-mount enclosure.


Q: Can you offer split ratio 20:80 optic splitter ?

A: Yes, we can offer. But for splitting ratio 20:80, it’s FBT splitter, not PLC Splitter. The former offers adjustable splitting ratio, while the latter offers equal split ratios for all branches.


Q: How to choose a right fiber optic splitter?

A: You should consider the costs & applications.

For example, splitting configurations below 1×4 are advised to use FBT splitter, while split configurations above 1×8 are recommended for PLC splitters. If only for a single wavelength transmission or dual, FBT splitter is better to save cost. If for PON broadband transmission, considering the future expansion and monitoring needs, PLC splitter is better.
