Fiber Optical Splitter, also known as fiber optic splitter or bean splitter, is a type of optical power management device to distribute optical signals from Central Office (CO) to multiple premise subscriber locations. PLC Optical Splitter plays a crucial role in PON network. Based on the Planar Waveguide Technology, it provides a cost effective and space saving network solution. Optic Fiber PLC splitter uniformly divides an optical signal from one or two input fiber ports to multiple output ports. The working wavelength is from 1260nm to 1650nm. PLC splitters can be utilized underground, aerial, pedestals and rack mount systems.
PLC splitters are typically installed to serve for PON and FTTH networks. 1xN and 2xN are the common splitter ratios for specific applications. You should choose the most suitable one according to your project.
ABS Box PLC Splitter
Also can be referred to as ABS Cassette PLC Splitter or ABS Module Type PLC Splitter. The inbound fibers and distribution fibers are arranged on the same plate of this ABS Box, which can adapt to different installation requirements and more flexible cabling solutions. Moreover, it can also be installed in a variety of boxes or enclosures. Module splitter, also called cassette splitter, is designed with direct 2.0nm or 3.0nm fiber output. This type of ABS Box splitter is usually used for patch panel use, such as network cabinet and optical distribution box. It does also need to splice and can better protect the fiber when using. A: No, If you need the splitter to be installed in FOSC (fiber optic splice closure), you can use blockless PLC splitter. This splitter is very common to be installed in a standard 19-inch rack unit.
Q: Is this splitter only used for standard 19-inch rack mount?
A: This splitter also can be used in outdoor optical distribution box for Fiber to the point (FTTx) deployments, CATV links and other passive optical networks (e.g., EPON, GPON, BPON).
