Planar lightwave circuit (PLC) splitter is a type of passive optical power management device that is fabricated using silica optical waveguide technology to distribute optical signals from Central Office (CO) to multiple premise locations. The optic fiber splitters are universally used in passive optical network. It allows a strand of fiber optic signal being equivalently split into several strands of an optical signal, and it can support a single network interface to be shared by many subscribers. Nowadays, the fiber optic splitter plays a significant role in the PON system for next generation fast internet solutions.
Optical Fiber PLC splitter is a kind of optical fiber tandem device with many input terminals and output terminals especially to a passive network to connect the MDF and terminal equipment to achieve the branching of the optical signal, Ideal for EPON, GPON, FTTH/FTTX networks.
Insert Type PLC splitter
Also can be referred to as mini plug-in PLC Splitter or Cassette Card Inserting PLC Splitter. Its appearance is similar to the LGX PLC Splitter, while insert plug-in plc splitter is its small version with a compact design. It is usually installed in the wall mount FTTH box for fiber optic signal distribution. Using the mini plug-in PLC type splitter saves time and space but still provides reliable protection for the fiber optic splitter. It's ideal for FTTx projects, especially at the distribution points near the end users of the FTTx networks.
